I’m starting this blog with a bit of personal trepidation.
Sharing who you are is always risky. Putting your thoughts out in the world is intimidating.
I almost didn’t start this blog. I went through a short season of doubt. But then something happened…
Someone who didn’t know about my blogging plans at all, told me that writing was something that God had for me to do, and told me he sensed that God was saying for me to start a blog. I was completely blown away!
Recently I saw a Lara Casey quote that spoke peace into my anxious ( but quietly excited) heart.
“She believed she couldn’t, so God did.”
Wow. That helped me remember that in doing this, I’m not on my own!
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
While stepping out of your comfort zone is scary, it also makes you more brave. And we do have a choice as to whether or not we want to step out and be bold. God may call you out of your comfort zone but you have to decide to stay or go. But I’ve found that when you step out of the realm of what you can imagine yourself accomplishing, and you walk in faith, God gives you the confidence and the courage that you need.
“To impress God, we must step out in limitless faith in him alone.”
I want to do what He’s calling me to do even if its new. I want to walk out in faith knowing He’s holding me up on the waves.
My soul craves to write. And God saw that. And He gave purpose to my passion.
Maybe there’s something you feel led to do. But you’re hesitating because it scares you. It might be going on a trip to a different country. Or sharing a song you wrote, with someone whose opinion you really care about. Maybe it’s having a conversation with a friend about something you’re struggling with. Or interviewing for that job you feel drawn to. So whatever it is, I challenge you: don’t wait. Just go out and do it!
I’m looking forward to embarking on this new journey of blogging. I’ll be posting on a variety of topics and am so excited to dive in! I’d love for you to join me, so stick around. And welcome to the Soul of a Ginger blog!
